FALLING LEAVES: Can the student affairs workforce survive the status quo? Our panel discusses what changes are needed to cultivate a healthier future.

The landscape
of student affairs employment has shifted through the years due to legislation, economics, management, human resource practices, environmental conditions, physical workplaces, and the ways in which all these systems interact. These changes have affected the well-being and vitality of the individuals who make up the workforce, but, like the proverbial frog in the warming pot of water, the changes have been gradual but no less harmful. Recent months, though, have brought these changes into stark relief and have drastically altered the ability of campuses to recruit, retain, and advance healthy, diverse, skilled, and vibrant talent.
