The Campus Housing Index (CHI) is a data tool that allows campus-based professionals to compare their campus's operations against customized groups of similar campuses. Using this data can assist with evaluating practices, making decisions, and articulating resource needs by using data and on-demand charts and graphics from the CHI.
The value of benchmarking data is particularly true when recognizing that not all programs are scalable. In addition, some schools are being affected by declining enrollment at a faster pace or have regional or state issues that pose different challenges. By better preparing staff to utilize and leverage data, more campuses can make knowledge-based decisions.
