Future of the Profession

The strength of your resident assistant team is too important to leave to chance. During this presentation, you will hear from James C. Stoner and Justin Leibowitz as they share major takeaways from the latest theme issue of the "ACUHO-I Journal of College & University Student Housing" that explored RA hiring practices. Both presenters served as guest editors of the issue that brought together some of the most knowledgeable voices on this subject. Specific topics to be discussed include the utility and effectiveness of evaluating candidates through group processes; the most often asked interview questions and what areas may be missed; how to best incorporate graduate students and live-in staff into the RA hiring process; the factors (and biases) that can impact RA hiring; and the tangible costs of the hiring process.
