    Hello Community Partners!

    I am in significant need of an assist related to housing and facilities operations. I know, BIG topic! I am looking for basics when it comes to process, procedure, work flow, checklists, etc. Below are some questions but any guidance, suggestion, or advice is GREATLY needed and appreciated!

    • What are your institution's maintenance categories and furniture cycles other than "deferred maintenance"?
    • Furniture inventory; who inventories, how is this recorded/saved?
    • Summer housing, housekeeping, and maintenance process for "closing" the halls, assessing, repairing and maintaining rooms, and clean and wax process/timeframe?

    We are a small campus (max occupancy = 215) with 2 traditional undergrad residence halls, and one suite style residence hall. I work directly with our facilities department and housekeeping service and find myself struggling each summer with getting our halls repaired and maintained appropriately and timely for the start of fall semester. I am grateful for your consideration and welcome any comments.
