My name is James Baumann and I am the Publications Director for ACUHO-I. I also am the community manager for the online community and the staff liaison for the Small College & University Network. Welcome to the Small College & University Online Community.
After much discussion with volunteers and members like yourself, the decision was made to launch a community specifically for members at smaller campuses. We recognize that schools like yours offer unique opportunities and also face unique challenges that might not always be served by posting questions in the more general Open Forum. This is a space for you.
This is also part of ACUHO-I's strategic initiative to offer more resources aimed at smaller campuses. We have published a publication aimed at small schools, hosted two Small College Symposiums, and have been hosting monthly Zoom calls where people can connect and share knowledge and resources.
In fact, if you are receiving this message, it is because you have participated in one or more of those projects. In many ways, I believe that this community can be the glue that holds all those different pieces together. It is available 24/7, 365 days a year. I hope, if you have a question, you will feel comfortable sharing it here. And -- maybe most importantly -- if you have an answer or suggestion to those questions, you will feel comfortable sharing it as well.
If you feel you have been added to this group in error, or simply are not interested in participating, you can go to your profile page, view your list of communities, and remove yourself from this group. You can also alter your email settings to control when you receive messages. Currently, you should receive a Daily Digest that collects all the messages posted the previous day (how many of you likely see posts from the Open Forum). You can change that to receive messages in real time - as they are posted - or not at all.
